Mr Phillip Insull has New Zealand and international experience in managing conditions affecting all regions of the neck and back. He specialises in minimally invasive treatments for osteoporotic fractures and lumbar disc disease as well as the full range of open surgical treatments for the neck and back.
Phillip attended the University of Auckland and graduated as a doctor in 2006. He went on to undertake specialist training in orthopaedic surgery with the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association/ Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014.
Since then, Phillip has undertaken further sub-specialist training in spine surgery. In 2015, he completed a spine surgery fellowship at Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, and in 2016, he completed a complex spine and scoliosis surgery fellowship at St George's University Hospital, London.
In addition, Phillip has observed and trained with a number of leading orthopaedic spine surgeons, neurosurgeons and vascular surgeons in UK, France, Germany, USA and Australia.
Phillip has a public appointment as a Consultant Spine Surgeon at North Shore Hospital, Auckland.
